My name is Ian. I qualified as a yoga teacher in 1999. I trained for two years as an Iyengar Yoga teacher studying the Asanas as set out in light on Yoga by Mr B K S Iyengar.
I am now an independent teacher but follow the principles of the teachings of Iyengar Yoga.
The class on Mondays had been running for 25 years. The first class was held on the 10th January 2000.
We have a range of ages from young to old. There is no limit. However please ask the teacher if you have a medical problem. See the home page for a list of serious illnesses.
The aim of the class is to learn the yoga poses. You don’t have to be super flexible to do yoga.
Yoga is about learning to strengthen and increase ones flexibility. Yoga brings benefits in making us feel better about ourselves.
We are a friendly group who enjoy practising Yoga and everyone particularly enjoys the relaxation part at the end of the class.
